The Geffrye Museum of the Home
With totajs technology. Its hard to imagine what life was like
in the past. People used rooms for the same reasons as we do.
trees a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. But they
6 other things like washing machines or cookers like the
ones we us today, and the toilet was often outside!

So how od people live without things like electricity? How did
they manage when it was cold and dark outside? How did they
make enough hot water to fill a bathtub? And more importantly,
what did they do when they were bored?
You can find answers to your questions at the Geffrye House
museum in East London. There you can see typical rooms that
date back 400 years. You can see how people lived in simple
homes called almshouses, and you can see typical rooms from
water homes, even if there weren't any computers or TVs!
