My favourite television programme
My favourite television programme is called “Europa da się lubić”. It is on almost every weekend. The presenter of the show invites a group of foreigners who study, live or work in Poland. They speak Polish very well. They are usually guests from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Holland and Scandinavia. Some of them have been on this programme for a long time. Each time the show is different from the previous shows. That is because each programme has a different topic. For instance, food and cooking, sport and leisure activities, money, family life and holidays and so on. The guests share with the audience in the studio and the viewers their impressions of Poland and knowledge of their own cultures. They all have a wonderful sense of humour so the programme is fun to watch. I can learn a lot about lifestyles in other European countries and have fun.
In a recent programme a group of young women danced a traditional Irish dance. It was both beautiful and amazing. The way they danced was very graceful - that was the beautiful part. Now for the amazing part. The top part of their bodies was completely stiff. Their legs though were flying all over the place. I admired them for keeping stiff. It must be extremely difficult. All the people in the studio fixed their eyes on them. When the dancers finished, there was a loud applause. I am a good dancer myself and I love dancing but I have never seen such a graceful way of dancing.
Some time later our teacher showed us a video with group dancing and some dancing at Irish weddings in the countryside. I think that the Irish people have music in their blood.
